An Opera For All Ages

To the Editor:

I want to thank The Fraser-Woods School for producing the opera, The Burning Rice Fields, at Edmond Town Hall on Friday, February 28. It was spectacular! Clearly the students worked hard on their roles and projects. It truly was a opera for all ages –– not only for the cast and crew, but also for the audience.

Special thanks to Aileen Hopper for producing the show. You took on the Herculean task of coordinating every aspect of the show. If it were not for your vision to take on a project of this magnitude, the students would not have had the satisfaction of learning yet another skill, and the public would not have had the benefit of seeing their talents. The success of the opera just goes to show what students, even at a young age, can do when they are given the opportunity. Thank you for a job well done!
