Charlotte Louise Stephens

Charlotte Louise (Frank) Stephens, 82, of Newtown, died peacefully on January 1 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Born in Bridgeport, on October 20, 1921, to Elsie and Arthur Frank, she was a graduate of Shelton High School, Class of 1941, and was a resident of Newtown for more than 53 years. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Fire Company of Botsford, a former den mother for Cub Scout Troop #270, a member of the Newtown Congregational Church, the Newtown Choral Society, and the Harmony Grange of Monroe.

Predeceased by her brother Arthur Nelson Frank, she is survived by two sons, Victor N. Stephens and his wife Barbara of Monroe, and Clinton R. Stephens Jr, of Newtown, as well as several nieces and nephews.

An avid letter writer and music lover, she brought cheer to all who knew her. Charlotte was the beloved wife of the late Clinton R. Stephens, Sr, and was a devoted and loving mother who will be greatly missed.

Funeral services, officiated by Rev Steve Gordon, were held January 8, at Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Route 25, Monroe. Interment in Monroe Center Cemetery will take place at a later date at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations may be directed to Newtown Congregational Church, 41A Main Street, Newtown 06470, or The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405-4906.
