Three Hundred Dollars

For Three Hundred Years

The Newtown Lions Club is leading a townwide effort to refurbish the Edmond Town Hall Theatre.

There are 411 seats in the main theater and the plan is to replace them with new seats. The cost is $300 per seat. Recently, Charles S. Salup presented a check to Lion Jason Hsu for a new seat. Mr Salup is the assistant branch manager of Morgan Stanley in Danbury and makes his home in Brookfield, but like many people in the area he patronizes the Edmond Town Hall Theatre. He felt strongly enough about the project that when he was approached by Lion Hsu, he immediately agreed to buy a seat.

The Lions Club urges everyone to support this effort as there are still 400 seats to go. Additional costs will involve refinishing the floor before the new seats are installed and repairing the seats in the balcony. As the upcoming tercentennial year progresses the Newtown Lions Club will be announcing many ways individuals and businesses can contribute to this project
