Training For Visitor Program

BETHEL — There are many elderly people in the greater Danbury and New Milford area who are waiting for a new friend. The Friendly Visitor Program, sponsored by The Volunteer Center serving western Connecticut, will hold a Friendly Visitor training session for individuals interested in becoming a friend to an isolated homebound senior.

The free training will be on Saturday, January 21, from 9 am to noon. It is being held at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road. No experience is necessary.

After completing the training, participants will be matched with an older adult based on location and common interests.
