MV Charges
Police said that they stopped motorist Mariann Adams, 49, of 24 Orchard Hill Road at about 8:40 am March 30, for violating a traffic signal when turning left from Mile Hill Road onto southbound South Main Street.
After investigating, police charged Adams with failure to obey a traffic control signal and with driving with a suspended license.
Police released Adams on a written promise to appear April 12 in Danbury Superior Court.
Hilarioâs Break-In
Sometime between 3 and 7 am on April 2, someone forcibly entered Hilarioâs Variety Store at 131 Mt Pleasant Road through a side window, police report. The intruder stole several packs of cigarettes, several cigarette lighters, and an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
Police are investigating the burglary, criminal trespassing, and criminal mischief. They ask anyone with information on the crime to contact them at 426-5841.
Infiniti Vs Deer
About 10 pm March 31, motorist Stephanie Vollono, 37, of Monroe was driving a 2002 Infiniti southward on South Main Street, when a deer ran onto the road and collided with the vehicle, police said.
Neither Vollono nor three passengers were injured, police said.
South Main Impact
During slippery road conditions on a snowy March 16, police report a two-vehicle accident about 11:23 am near 182 South Main Street.
In that crash, trucker David Pelletier, 45, of Enfield, who was driving a tractor-trailer truck, was pulling out from a driveway at 182 South Main Street, when the truck collided with motorist Denise Manfro, 22, of Millbrook, N.Y., who was driving a 2004 Mercury Monterey on South Main Street, police said. There were no injuries.
Police gave Pelletier a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Four Vehicles
A four-vehicle accident occurred on the snow-covered pavement near 93 Berkshire Road about 12:24 pm March 16.
Police said the accident involved motorist George Henriques, 26, of Danbury, who was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck; motorist Felicia DelGuidice, 41, of 2 Leopard Drive, who was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan; motorist Frederick Bonnacorso, 47, of 4 Canterbury Lane, who was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer, and motorist Dean Temple, 27, of 197 Walnut Tree Hill Road, who was driving a 2006 Honda Element.
There were no injuries. Police issued Henriques and DelGuidice written warnings for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
High School Altercation
Police report that they arrested two female Newtown High School students on April 2, charging each one with third-degree assault in connection with a physical altercation there.
Police said a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl each struck another youth under age 16 at the school on that morning, and were thus arrested.
State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes. Both of the girls were released to parents on written promises to appear April 16 in Danbury Juvenile Court.
