MISSOULA, MONT. (AP) — An art collector has anonymously lent the University of Montana (UM) a masterpiece of European Expressionist art from the early Twentieth Century. The Egon Schiele painting titled “Seated Female Semi-Nude, Green Blouse” is on exhibit through September 13 in the lobby of the UM president’s office.

Four times previously, the collector has lent major works of art to the university. Two of the four were by Schiele, an Austrian who was a leader in Expressionist art. He was 28 when he died from the Spanish flu in 1918. Schiele painted “Seated Female Semi-Nude, Green Blouse” in 1913.

Museums where his works are in permanent collections include the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and Kunstmuseum Basel in Switzerland.
