Everyday Chemistry For Kids And Families

DANBURY —  The wonders of chemistry will be revealed for children and families in the greater Danbury area when Western Connecticut State University hosts the “Wizards of Chemistry” show on Saturday, October 20.

Members of the WestConn Chemistry Club, a student organization dedicated to pursuing scientific exploration and contributing to wider public understanding of chemistry, will present a program of interactive experiments designed to demonstrate basic chemical principles at 11 am in Room 125 of the WCSU Science Building.

The family-oriented program, especially suitable for children at the elementary-school level, will provide an opportunity for individuals of all ages to experience chemistry in commonplace materials and everyday life.

Admission to the show of approximately 45 minutes will be free, and the public is invited. Refreshments will be available for a fee following the demonstration.

The Science Building is on the university’s midtown campus, at the corner of Osborne Street and Dr James Roach Avenue. For more information, call the Office of University Relations at 837-8486.
