Trees And Other Views
Trees And Other Views
NEW FAIRFIELD â âTrees and Other Views,â an exhibition of multi-media art by Paula Renee, will be at The Barn Gallery in New Fairfield during the month of October.
The artist thinks of trees ânot only as essential to life as they are linked to and in balance with every part of nature, but as symbolic of a continuation of life through the changing of seasons.â
Inspired by the artist Gustav Klimt, leaves are sometimes painted as single structures (members of a community) while branches beneath intermingle into a unified whole and trunks represent strength and stability. Areas beyond the groves may be seemingly distant, sometimes ethereal, but nevertheless a part of nature and linked to the trees.
âNo matter how far away, all things in nature are affected by every act,â said Ms Renee.
âSeeking to create atmospheres of peace where all life is respected, a grove can be thought of as a quiet refuge from the busyness of everyday life, or may contain pathways leading to distant areas toward new adventures â the foggy unknowns â that which lies beyond the shelter of the quiet trees,â she continued.
