Occupation: I’m an insurance and investment specialist, which I’ve been doing for 12 years. My office is in Fairfield, but I sometimes work out of my home, as well.

Family: I’m married to Chrissy. We have two daughters, Amanda, 10, and Ava, 7; and a son, Michael, will soon be 4 years old.

Pets: Oscar is our white Australian Labradoodle that is about a year and a half old now. He traveled far to get to us, from British Columbia.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We moved here four years ago from Monroe.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to go to the gym, and I run two or three times a week. When I’m not working, I like to do any activity with my kids. We go for walks, go for bike rides, play softball in the back yard, and we love having movie night at home. I like to read, too.

Do you have a favorite book? Two books come to mind: my favorite at the moment is Have A Little Faith by Mitch Albom. I recently read Midnights With the Mystic by Cheryl Simone and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasu, and I really enjoyed it.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I would say it is Positano, Italy, on the Amalfi Coast. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon. The landscape, the culture, the people, the food — it was like nothing else I’d ever experienced.

What is the best thing about Newtown? It’s very beautiful, and the people are warm. There is a nice sense of community here.

Who do you most admire? My grandfather. I think there’s nothing like a grandson/grandfather relationship. He passed when I was only about 16 years old, but before that, he visited us every weekend and we both looked forward to the time spent together. He taught me how to love and how to just “be.” There was no agenda.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I try to teach my kids to have fun, be responsible, act courageously, and always show gratitude.

What makes you happiest? I like having barbeques at my house with friends and family, and we’re all having a good time. And I love watching my kids laugh.
