Marshall Smith

Pharmacist For

Fifty Years

Kenneth Marshall Smith, 77, formally of Newtown, died peacefully at home in Arkansas, August 31, with his wife and daughter nearby. He was born January 23, 1934, in Milford, to Blanch Turnbal Smith and Kenneth Ericson Smith.

He graduated from UConn, College of Pharmacy. Mr Smith and his wife, Betsy, lived in Newtown prior to moving to Hot Springs, Ark, in 1999.

He tried to retire in Arkansas, but found he could not; so he was able to complete 50 years in the work he enjoyed.

Mr Smith was active in the Gidion Brothers when he actually did retire. He was also a Bible Study Fellowship student and teacher.

Survivors include his wife of almost 56 years; his daughter Cynthia Nye Hanna, and husband Ian; his son Darren Marshall Smith, and wife Diana; and son Kenneth Ericson Smith, and wife Kathy. Seven grandchildren also survive Mr Smith. His parents; a son, Stephen Field Smith; and a sister, Skip, preceded him in death.

A burial is scheduled for the Saturday, October 15, which would have been the Smith’s 56th wedding anniversary, at 10 am, in Milford Cemetery.
