Michael Cosgrove, 95, of Newtown, died June 8, at Pope John Paul II Care and Rehabilitation Center, Danbury. He was born in Broadford Parish, County Clare, Ireland, on November 29, 1915, a son of Bridget (Welch) and Michael Cosgrove. Mr Cosgrove was the husband of Clare (Franklin) Cosgrove.

Prior to his retirement, Mr Cosgrove was a bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority. He was a longtime resident of The Bronx, N.Y., and had been a resident of Newtown since 1985.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Michael Cosgrove of Newtown and John Cosgrove of County Mayo, Ireland; a daughter, Teresa Cosgrove of County Mayo, Ireland; and 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Monday, June 13, from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Tuesday June 14, at 10 am. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y., will be private.
