Hoping For Another Change

I am concerned about the postponement of the Newtown Labor Day Parade. It has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 9, at 10 am. My concern is that all Newtown churches hold services on Sunday mornings. I know that St Rose of Lima Church holds its Sunday Masses from 7:30 am to noon.

The Parade Committee is doing a disservice to the people of Newtown who take attendance at their church service very seriously. The traffic at 46 Church Hill Road is always congested on Sundays as parishioners come and go. Add to that the parade traffic, and you have a mess!

I hope the Parade Committee will consider changing the parade to a Saturday
