Save Money: Make Your Own Wreath

BETHLEHEM — Tired of buying holiday wreaths? Want to learn how to make your own from what’s in your own back yard?

Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden Horticulturist Robin Zitter will lead a hands-on workshop on wreath making on Saturday, November 20, at the Bethlehem historic site. Cost in $20 per person.

Participants will walk through the historic Ferriday Garden to see examples of different foliage, flowers, seed pods, nuts and berries that can be used for making wreaths. All supplies and materials, both fresh cut and dried, needed to make a wreath will be provided. Participants should bring pruning shears; glue guns are recommended but not necessary.

Robin Zitter has been a professional horticulturist for the past 18 years. She received her horticulture certificate from the New York Botanic Gardening. In addition to being the horticulturist of the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden since 1993, Ms Zitter also maintains her own business, providing horticulture services to private clients.

For more information concerning the workshop, including the time it will be held, the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden or the Antiquarian & Landmarks Society, call 266-7596. The house and its gardens are at 9 Main Street in Bethlehem.
