Fireside won against Duhamel in Womenâs Softball at Fairfield Hills, Thursday, July 19, with a score of 14-6. Firesideâs offense was led by a 4 for 5 Stacey Gordon and a 3 for 4 Lynn McClintick. Beenish Ansari added a key hit in Firesideâs four-run third inning. Providing excellent defense was Rabiya Ansari-Johnston and Gordon with amazing footwork in the outfield, and Shelby Rotunda on third base with her flawless performance.
On Monday, July 23, Black Swan defeated Duhamel 15-4. Black Swanâs Melissa Fracker did a great job at the mound, as well as at bat, with a home run and RBI. Three triples with two RBI for the night were hit in by Julia Truchsess, Melissa Shepard, and Joey Barry. Kelly Tenney took in four runs with her four RBI and was a great defensive player at third base. Lisa Grossman and Shannon Shepard each had an RBI. Joey Barry was unbelievable at short stop with her strong throws to Julia Truchsess at first, stopping several plays.
Also on July 23, Salon Michele defeated Pub 25 5-2. Salon Micheleâs Jeanne Carney had two triples and a single, and played well at shortstop. Nancy Neumeister had a triple and a single, and played a good left field. Lori Rohrbacher had some clutch catches in the field and two singles.
My Place defeated Fireside, 6-3.
