Children’s Programs

Jesse Bear Lives in Alaska: On December 10th, Nancy Carlstrom, author of the popular Jesse Bear series and dozens of other titles, will present her program, “Jessse Bear Lives in Alaska,” from 2-3 in the community room. Ms Carlstrom will have several of her titles about Alaska available for signing immediately following the program. The program is funded by the Library Author Fund and is free and open to the public.

Craft Program: Decorate your own small graham cracker gingerbread houses with royal icing and holiday candies, Saturday, December 16, from 2-3 pm in the library meeting room. Participants must be 4 and older. Parents are encouraged to stay and help younger children. Pre-registration is required. A few openings are still available. There is no fee, but participants must bring a bag of holiday candies to share; i.e.: gumdrops, M&M’s, licorice, gummy bears, small candy canes.

Adult Programs

Yoga with Ricky Ayers: Ricky Ayers’ yoga class continues at the library on Thursdays from 4:45-6 pm in the new meeting room. Come join in some gentle stretching and relaxation exercises.

Internet Classes: Bob Brand will be conducting an Internet class for beginners on Saturday, December 9, and an intermediate class on Saturday, December 16. Class will begin at 10 am in the meeting room. Please register for these classes at the main circulation desk or by calling the library at 426-4533. There is a $10 registration fee for the intermediate class. The beginner’s class is free of charge.

Workshop: The Family Counseling Center – Educational Workshop Series will present “Holiday Blues,” Thursday, December 13, 7 pm, in the meeting room.

Holiday Hours: Saturday, December 23 – Library closes at 2 pm; Sunday, Decmeber 24 – Library closed for Christmas Eve; Monday, December 25 – Library closed for Christmas; Sunday, December 31 – Library closed for New Year’s Eve; Monday, January 1 – Library closed for New Year’s Day.

Found: A small back pack was found at the library with personal items but no identification. Please come and claim it if it’s yours.
