Life Line Screening Set For July 29
Life Line Screening Set For July 29
A Life Line screening session will be held on Monday, July 29, from 9 am to 4 pm, at the parish hall at St Rose of Lima Church on Church Hill Road. Are tests are simple, noninvasive procedures.
Four screenings will be offered. Appointments are necessary by calling 800-407-4576.
The carotid artery/stroke screening uses ultrasound to determine the buildup of fatty plaque in the carotid arteries of the neck, a condition that can lead to a stroke. The abdominal aortic aneurysm screening uses ultrasound to check for a weakness in the abdominal aorta that could lead to a ruptured aortic artery.
Screening for peripheral arterial disease in the lower extremities checks for both peripheral arterial disease and a condition that reveals a high risk of coronary artery disease.
There also will be an osteoporosis screening to check bone mass density.
The screening day is sponsored by the St Rose Parish Ministry. Medicare does not cover the cost of the screenings and Life Line does not file insurance claims. For information about the cost of the screenings, call the toll-free number.
