Christopher Thompson, who grew up in Newtown, and Kimberly (Livingston) Thompson, both of Woodbury, announce the birth of a son, Jack Murphy Thompson, on March 9 at Danbury Hospital.

Maternal grandparents are Bob and Reed Livingston of Ridgefield.

Paternal grandmother is Patricia Thompson, a 35-year resident of Newtown, and paternal grandfather is retired Newtown Police Officer Raymond Thompson.

Bill and Margaret McCarthy of Sandy Hook announce the birth of their daughter, Allison Marie McCarthy, on March 18 at Danbury Hospital. Allison joins her brother, Timothy Raymond McCarthy, age 3.

Allison weighed seven pounds, eight ounces, and she was 20 inches in length.

Maternal grandparents are Raymond and Rita Sweeney of West Springfield, Mass.

Paternal grandparents are Barbara McCarthy and the late William McCarthy of Wyckoff, N.J.
