‘Charlotte’s Web’ Comes Alive At Head O’ Meadow

By Larissa Lytwyn

The timeless tale of friendship that is E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web came alive recently on the Head O’ Meadow Elementary School stage, courtesy of the school’s entire third grade class.

Music teacher Julie Bastos directed the show.

“The cast and some of the chorus had two rehearsals a week before school and some during school with the entire third grade,” she said.

The production boasted an elaborate set, including a web Ms Bastos said was “purchased and modified by a parent.”

“The students had the chance to read Charlotte’s Web before the production,” said librarian Joyce Kuzmick. “It’s just a wonderful piece to do.”

Sally Martinelli and Dina Riccio played the title role of Charlotte. Jonah McKewon played Wilbur the pig. Ryan Coe and Emily Peters portrayed the farm couple, Mr and Mrs Zuccerman. Robbie Russo played the scene-stealing mischievous rat, Templeton. Abby Hungaski played Sheep. Kyle Buckley played Lamb and Grace Kellogg portrayed Fern.
