High Blood Pressure Forum
High Blood Pressure Forum
NEW MILFORD â Dr John Turchiano will present a Health Forum program, âControlling High Blood Pressure,â on Tuesday, January 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at the New Milford Hospital Robison Conference Rooms.
A heart health risk assessment by the hospitalâs cardiac rehabilitation staff will take place prior to the lecture.
It is estimated that one in four adults in the United States has high blood pressure. Left uncontrolled, it can lead to stroke, heart attack, and heart or kidney failure. With lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, and, for some, medical therapies, these risks can be reduced.
During his talk, Dr Turchiano, an internist, explains what high blood pressure is, who is at risk, and what are the most up-to-date treatment plans. He also will discuss risk factors, proper monitoring, and how to live a more heart-healthy life.
The program is free and open to the public. Preregistration is requested by calling 860-350-7215.
