First Church of Christ, Congregational To Host Vacation Bible School In July

REDDING — Back by popular demand, The First Church of Christ, Congregational will host its annual vacation bible school for children ages preK to preteen this summer during the week of July 10–14. The day camp will be held on the church grounds and inside the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall.

The theme of this year’s bible school is SonTreasure Island, a Caribbean and sailing-adventure inspired theme designed to appeal to children of all ages. The camp is open to all Redding-area children; families do not have to be members of the First Church of Christ in order to participate.

“Each year, dozens of children enjoy our weeklong vacation bible school. This year’s Caribbean-inspired theme promises to be the most creative and engaging yet,” said Senior Minister Dr Dean C. Ahlberg. “SonTreasure Island creates a fun, interactive atmosphere that encourages children to sing, perform skits, do crafts, and play games as they learn about God’s love for all God’s children,” added the Reverend Ahlberg.

SonTreasure Island will take place Monday through Friday from 9 am until noon. Registration is for the first child $75; $50 for each additional child. Spaces are limited.
