Gladys Hubbard

Gladys W. Hubbard, 98, formerly of Hartford and Newtown, died August 8 at the Shadow Mountain Nursing Center in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was the wife of the late L. Marsden Hubbard.

She was born in Jersey City, N.J., December 28, 1901, a daughter of the late Richard L. and Ethel (Thayer) Woodward.

She was a resident of Newtown from 1953 to 1975 and was a member of Trinity Church in Newtown. She moved to St Louis in 1975 and then to the Scottsdale, Ariz., area in 1993.

She is survived by a son, Leverett M. Hubbard, III, and his wife, Catee, of New London, N.H., and Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Leverett Hubbard, IV, and Sarah (Thayer) Hubbard.

A graveside service will be held on September 15, at 2 pm, at the In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford. There are no calling hours.

The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford, is in charge of arrangements.
