Celebrating A Bicentennial

BETHLEHEM — In honor of Christ Episcopal Church’s 200th anniversary, Bishop Andrew Smith will conduct a service on Sunday, September 16, at 10 am. The historic church is on Main Street South; telephone 203-266-7698.

The Rite Reverend Smith is the Episcopal Bishop of Connecticut, and he will be assisted by Rev David Pritchard. A reception for the bishop and honored guests will follow the service in Johnson Memorial Hall.

This service will be the first in a series of events commemorating the church’s bicentennial.

On October 9 there will be a classic jazz pianist, Doug Schlink, performing in the church. Another concert on October 27 will present David Veslocki with a program of classical jazz guitar.

Both concerts are gifts of the church’s congregation in honor of their 200th anniversary.
