Corrugated Picnic: A Workshop
With Lunch
RIDGEFIELD â The public is invited to join nationally recognized artist Jimmy Grashow for a larger-than-life picnic extravaganza in the sculpture garden at The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday, July 28, beginning at 11 am.
Participants are invited to bring along a tasty lunch for their appetites and then create a corrugated feast for their eyes using cardboard, glue, and a creative appetite. Families will work together to make life-size and larger-than-life sculptures in celebration of the summer season. All materials are included.
Jimmy Grashow is a nationally recognized artist who currently resides in Redding. Mr Grashow has created several cardboard environments and artworks for the Aldrich, including âYazoo!â in 1998, and most recently an enormous and patriotic cardboard eagle for a May 2001 Memorial Day float.
The picnic and creation workshop will run from 11 am to 2 pm. Cost is $20 per person, or $55 for a family of three or more. For directions and reservations, call the museum at 203-438-4519. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
The Aldrich is at 258 Main Street/Route 35 in Ridgefield.
