Naturally 7 is listed as being the opener that night.
*Also going on sale Friday morning will be the tickets for a March 8 show by MATCHBOX TWENTY, who will bring their North American headline tour to Mohegan Sun Arena that night.
Tickets are $49.50 and will be available at the same time the abovementioned Coldplay tickets are available, and although through the same TicketMaster options. Mohegan Sunâs box office will also begin offering these tickets on Saturday morning.
Of course, Matchbox Twenty was in Perth this past weekend, playing a headlining gig with INXS in the support position. For fans of the Australian band, that must have been quite a show. Not only was it the tour ending event for INXS (the show at the recently-opened Perth Arena was the scheduled finalé of that leg of INXSâs tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Kick), it was also â as has been widely reported this week â the end of the touring career for INXS, as Jon Farriss announced during the set Sunday night.
An INXS show at New Haven Palace in New Haven in 1985 was the second concert I ever went to, and the first one my parents allowed me to go to without them. It was a great show, as were all the shows by that band that I had the joy of attending.
I am actually surprised the guys hung on for as long as they did after the death of Michael Hutchence, and yet I was still disappointed to hear the news about the bandâs break-up when my friend Carleen (one of the girls I went to that New Haven concert with so many years ago) sent me a note about it Tuesday morning.Â
Until next week, Iâll be seeing you⦠on the road.
