Newtown Parks and Recreation will be sponsoring three trips and for all trips we need a minimum of 15 participants. These trips are on the verge of being canceled, so please register early if you are thinking about going.
#1) See Late Nite Catechism 2 on Sunday, March 13 at City Stage in Springfield, Massachusetts. It is bigger and badder than ever! Come laugh and enjoy this fun filled comedy. Tickets are $55. Departure is at 10:15 am from Newtown Middle School, giving participants time to shop at the Holyoke Mall and the Christmas Tree Shop.
#2) See Macyâs 31st Annual Flower Show at Herald Square in New York on Monday, March 21. There are only 25 seats available, so register early! Fee is $58, which includes a guided tour, free time to shop Macyâs with special discount coupons, and lunch DaRosinaâs Restaurant on Restaurant Row.
#3) See the West Point Dress Parade on Saturday, April 16. The Cadets will march in full uniform in cadence with miltary music and presenting arms in unison. Fee is $57.

Magic Workshop: All participants will receive a magic kit and learn to perform five magic tricks. Each workshop is different. Learn magic tricks from full time professional magician, Tom OâBrien. This program needs six to run. Workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, February 15 and Tuesday, March 22, 4 to 5 pm each night. Fee is $35 per workshop.
Paint, Draw & More: This program teaches children to draw what they see, to enhance their drawings with their own ideas and concepts and to use different materials in creative ways. The class runs March 2 through April 6 and the fee is $94 per child for ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13.
Golf Quest Golf Lessons: Each lesson concentrates on a different aspect of the game. Classes are set for March 2, 9, 16 and 23 and the fee is $100. The lessons will be taught by a Golf Quest Pro for ages 8 to 16 and 16 and up.
Hatha Yoga: Will run Mondays, February 28, March 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 9 to 10 am. Fee is $55.
