Old Farm Hill Road

About 5:44 pm December 16, Benjamin Stockmal, 22, of Seymour was driving a private 1993 Ford truck with a snowplow attached to it near 3 Old Farm Hill Road, when while negotiating a curve in the road to the left, the truck went out of control on the snowy road, police said.

The truck moved straight ahead and struck some curbing, after which its plow struck some guard cables, police said.

Stockmal was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Flagpole MVA

Police report a two-vehicle accident at the hazardous flagpole intersection where Main Street, West Street, and Church Hill Road intersect.

Motorist Michael Testani, 57, of Brookfield was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan minivan southward on Main Street, behind a southbound 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Louis Bianco, 35, of 21 Paugussett Road, police report.

The Ford then started to make a right turn onto West Street and was sideswiped on its right side by the Dodge, which attempted to pass the Ford on the right, police said.

Police said Testani told them he thought that Bianco was making a left turn onto Church Hill Road, so he attempted to pass the Ford on the right side.

There were no injuries. Police issued Testani a written warning for passing on the right.
