Merwinsville Hotel Open For Tours
GAYLORDSVILLE â Once again the Merwinsville Hotel will be open for guided tours on Sunday afternoons in July, August and September, from 2 to 4 pm.
The public is invited to see the only remaining railroad hotel east of the Mississippi. On the National Register of Historic Places, The Merwinsville Hotel, built in 1843, is a unique building saved from destruction by volunteers. A small museum of railroad memorabilia and local history is also housed in the hotel. Admission is free.
To get to the hotel take Route 7 to Gaylordsville and turn onto Riverview Road; go left onto Station Road, then over the railroad tracks and left onto Brownâs Forge Road; follow signs to the hotel.
