A Donation From The Band

Newtown Band parent president Steve Rosentel, left, and Newtown Band parent treasurer Tom Daily, right, present a check of $5,000 to Newtown Blue & Gold Booster Club president Dan Barrett for the Blue & Gold Stadium Revitalization project. The donation is from the NHS Band Parent Corp. and was raised throughout the season (including at the Grasso Marching Band Festival, normally held in the stadium). The NHS Band Parent Corp. raises funds to support the band and color guard programs, both of which had tremendous fall seasons including a win at the Class IV Musical Arts Conference Championships on November 12 at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport. Rosentel said, “We feel it is important to aid other organizations who are improving our school community and our hope is to encourage other organizations to follow suit.”
