To the Editor:

I would like to support Desiree Galassi for Board of Education! I moved to Newtown three years ago and I have been amazed at the progress she has spearheaded at Middle Gate! She has been an exceptional PTA president bringing innovative and progressive ideas to our school. Her accomplishments include leading Middle Gate to acquire Smart board technology. It was through her frugal and tough negotiations that we were able to secure more boards than expected. She is always looking for new enrichment possibilities for our students and has been instrumental in adding programs for geography, book discussion and foreign language over and above our standard curriculum.

She has motivated many of us to get involved so that we have a rich and productive PTA program. She has a caring nature about her that always listens to what you have to say. Her hard work, determination and action have made a positive difference at Middle Gate. I would love to see her boundless enthusiasm on the Board of Education. She has what it takes to move Newtown schools in the right direction.

Vote Desiree Galassiâ? Her skills, talents and experience will be a huge asset to our Board of Education.
