4th Annual Mad Dash Adventure Race June 13; Registration Open
Newtown Parks and Recreation Department and NYA Sports & Fitness Center announce the Mad Dash Adventure Race will be held on Saturday, June 13, with the first flight commencing at 8:30 am.
The fourth annual Mad Dash offers the ultimate in fitness adventure in which participants run, jump, crawl, carry, and climb their way through the scenic Fairfield Hills Campus, utilizing both its natural topography as well as manmade structures. This fun but challenging course includes physical challenges, running, and skilled events.
Participants may choose from four levels: Mini Dash (ages 5 and older), the Beginner/Family (8 and older), Superhero (Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs, Search and Rescue divers, et al), and Advanced (14 and older).
The Mini Dash will allow young children the ability to participate in a shortened version of the race finishing in the mud pit.
The Beginner/Family course will have significantly less running and modified challenges and is designed for families and intermediate fitness enthusiasts.
The Advanced course will test even the most-seasoned athlete with a more difficult run component and challenges.
Advance registration ends Sunday, May 22. Early bird registration for adults is $25, children (8-17) $20, Mini Dash children $15. After May 22, including day of the race, adult registration is $35, children (8-17) $25, and Mini Dash children (5-8) $15.
