Craft Center’s Annual Holiday Exhibition & Sale To Open This Weekend

BROOKFIELD— With the arrival of hundreds of works of handmade fine craft, set-up is complete for the 35th Annual Holiday Exhibition and Sale at Brookfield Craft Center. Numerous talented craft artists from across North America have provided beautiful new work for this year’s event.

This year’s event includes unique work by dozens of artists new to the exhibition, as well as new work by returning artists. According to BCC Executive Director Richard Herrmann, “In line with our mission of teaching and promoting fine craft, every purchase provides significant support for the Craft Center’s educational programs, as well as income to the artist who made the work.”

“We’ve really raised the bar on the Holiday Sale this year,” added Betsy Halliday, marketing director for the craft center. “All the artwork has been juried into the sale. We’ve focused on quality work that is representative of the type of fine craft that is taught in our classes and workshops. Many of our experienced faculty members are represented, so potential students can see the kind of work they can earn to make in our studios, and the level of talent our instructors possess.”

New this year is a Collector’s Corner gallery, both online (at BrookfieldCraft.org) and on site, featuring high-end fine craft such as one-of-a-kind art jewelry, furniture and sculpture for the discriminating buyer.

Also new is the transformation of The LTB Studio, which has been transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” filled with fine craft items that make perfect gifts ... such as glass ornaments, hats and mittens, journals, smaller pottery items, and jewelry.

The 35th Annual Holiday Sale will open Saturday, November 20, and continue through Friday, December 31. Hours are Wednesday through Friday, 11 am to 7 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.

Brookfield Craft Center is at 286 Whisconier Road (Route 25), just east of the “four corners” intersection with 7/202, a few miles north of Danbury off exits #7 or #9 of Interstate 84. For more information, visit BrookfieldCraft.org or call 203-775-4526.
