Friends Of C.H. Booth Library Seeking Volunteers

The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library is looking for volunteers who might have any one of a wide variety of skills to offer. For a description of volunteer needs, see the volunteer information at CHBoothLibrary.org website (left side of page, scroll down to Services, and click on Book Sale Volunteers).

Volunteers of all ages are welcomed to help sort through and categorize the thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, and other reading-related items donated year around to the organization for the annual book sale held each summer. Each of the more than 120,000 items at the July sale must be evaluated as to condition and categorized in one of 80-plus different divisions. All items must also be evaluated as to which will be sold at the book sale and which of the more valuable items will be offered for sale online.

The Friends especially needs people who have the computer skills to research a book’s value, list it online, or help with packing and shipping for online sales at Amazon.com.

Thorough training is provided to all who volunteer.

Prospective volunteers can stop by any Monday or Thursday morning in the book sorting room at the library, just past the entrance to the Children’s Library, or call 203-270-4537 or 203-270-7030 for more information.
