Breakfast With Birds Compliments Of Lillinonah Audubon Society

SOUTHBURY –– The Lillinonah Audubon Society (LAS) will have its annual birding breakfast on Saturday, June 18, at the Bent of the River Audubon Center located on East Flat Hill Road.

The day begins at 7:30 at the center’s kiosk where participants will take a meandering walk along the Pomperaug River. The walk ends in the cedar fields where male prairie warblers and blue winged warblers are singing enthusiastically in hopes of finding mates.

LAS board members will supply breakfast goodies, coffee, and plenty of conversation. Following breakfast there will be a wildflower walk. There is no charge for the event but donations will be accepted. The public is invited to join the group for any or all three events.

The Center may be reached by taking Route 172 towards Southbury Training Center and turning left onto Flat Hill Road at the general store. Phone Judith Stevens at 263-7670 for reservations.
