NVCC Kids-On-Campus Registration Extended To August 2

WATERBURY — The registration deadline for the Naugatuck Valley Community College’s popular Kids-on-Campus summer enrichment program has been extended to the first day of classes, on August 2. Now in its 23rd year, Kids-on-Campus provides fun, educational opportunities for students entering grades four through ten.

Seats are still available in many courses, including “Let’s Draw,” which explores various drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal, and ink; “Count On,” a creative course combining math lessons with interactive games; “Publisher’s Studio,” for students interested in writing movie and music reviews and other articles based on fun facts found on the Internet; “What’s the Matter?” a chemistry course for the scientifically curious; “Mad Scientist,” which looks at the magic of the natural sciences; “Waterworld,” for students interested in learning more about aquatic life; and “Good Enough to Eat,” a Pop Art course in clay-building techniques.

The summer program begins August 2 and runs through August 13, with morning and afternoon sessions available. The cost for most courses is $199, plus lab fees, if applicable, unless otherwise noted in the catalog. Additional children in the same household can register for $149 per course.

For more information on course descriptions and registration, visit the college website at www.nvcc.commnet.edu or call 203-575-8029 for a catalog.
