Annual Open House Will Be September 6
BROOKFIELD â Brookfield Craft Center will offer the public an opportunity to tour its studios, explore its historic campus and see demonstrations by core faculty members in traditional and contemporary craft techniques at during its annual open house, which this year will be Sunday, September 6, from 1 to 4 pm.
This once-a-year opportunity to explore the center allows visitors to view the seven teaching studios and meet faculty members of this nationally known school, who will provide live demonstrations of skills that are taught in the craft centerâs ongoing education programs.Â
The demonstrations will include work in glass, ceramics, weaving, blacksmithing, woodturning, woodworking and jewelry. It is a chance to discover how learning craft skills can enable personal creativity and imagination.
Among those participating this year will be Carol and Wayne Smith of Newtown; he carves and she paints intricate wood carvings.
