Art Classes For Children

DANBURY – The second session of fall art classes for children at Wooster Community Art Center will begin the week of October 26.

Students may choose from “Exploring Art,” for ages 5 to 8, Tuesday, October 26 through December 7, 4 to 6 pm; “Pottery of the Southwest,” for ages 9 to 13, Wednesdays, October 26 through December 14, 4 to 6 pm; and “Printmaking,” for ages 9 to 13, Thursdays, October 27 through December 15, 4 to 6 pm.

“Exploring Art” uses a variety of mediums and approaches to art. Children will learn about colors, shapes, textures, and elements of design through drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking.

“Pottery of the Southwest” is a studio course that will present the techniques and traditions of pottery-making from the perspective of Southwestern culture.

  “Printmaking” will give students an opportunity to work with various tools and learn a variety of methods for creating prints from their artwork.
