John E. Allen

Former Town Highway Department Employee

John E. Allen, 73, of Newtown, died May 14, in Danbury Hospital. He was born in Norwalk, March 5, 1938, a son of Mildred F. (Kriewald) and Myer C. Allen.

Mr Allen was raised in Westport. He served in the US Marine Corps. For 25 years, he was employed by the Town of Newtown Highway Department, until his retirement. He was a member of the Connecticut Yankee Chapter Truck Club.

He is survived by his son, John C. Allen of Newtown; a stepson, James Tucciarone, and his wife Lisa, of Attleboro, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Diane Kamerzall, and her husband Jim, of Daytona, Fla.; a grandson; and four sisters. Two brothers, James and Robert Allen, both of Vermont, predeceased Mr Allen.

Friends may call Sunday, May 22, from 2 to 5 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A graveside service will be held Monday May 23, at noon, at the Newtown Village Cemetery.
