In a few weeks we will head to the election booth to pick our town officials. This is a decision that will have an impact for years to follow. As the late Tip O’Neil said, “All politics is local.” No politicians has ever made a comment that has greater wisdom or impact than those four words.

With that simple phrase in mind I think of Newtown and the issues we face. I am not going to lay out a menu of those issues, rather I am going to focus on the solution and the people involved in solving the problems we face as a community.

The concept is simple…who better to work a solution than someone who has the best interest of the community at heart? Herb Rosenthal has as his core value the desire to do what is best for the residents of Newtown.

As a Republican, my default position is to endorse a member of my party; however, as in the last local election, I feel that the collective interests of Newtown will best be served by electing a slate of leaders who have the understanding and core values to act in our best interest.

When I step into the voting booth next month I am voting for Herb Rosenthal and I urge you to also.
