Forest Association Annual Meeting
The Newtown Forest Association (NFA) will hold its annual meeting Thursday, May 18, at the Newtown Senior Center in Sandy Hook. The business meeting will start at 7:30 pm.
The agenda will include the report of officers and directors, followed by a report of past year activities and plans for the coming year. The public is invited to attend this event.
The evening will conclude with a presentation by Tim Northrop, project manager at the Connecticut field office of the Trust for Public Land. The subject of his talk will be âHow to Save Newtownâs Last Open Space.â
In addition to managing land conservation projects, Mr Northrop oversees the Trust for Public Landâs legislative, development, and program initiatives. He is also co-chairman of the Land Conservation Coalition of Connecticut (LCCC). Prior to coming to the Trust for Public Land, he worked as an environmental consultant while living in southern California. Mr Northrop is a graduate of Stanford University and the Coro Foundationâs Fellows Program in Public Affairs. He also served in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Mr Northrop and his wife, Shelley, are residents of Newtown. They have two children, Will, 6, and Anna, 4.
