Polio Program

WALLINGFORD –– Polio Outreach of Connecticut will sponsor a special event called the Silver Symposium, featuring prominent polio physician and author Julie K. Silver, MD, on Saturday, May 3, at 1 pm in the Brooker Lecture Hall at Gaylord Hospital.

Dr Silver will speak on the subject of “Polio Myths and Half-Truths.” She is the medical director of the International Rehabilitation Center for Polio at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts. She also is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and has published several books including Post-Polio Syndrome: A Guide for Polio Survivors and Their Families (Yale University Press).
