A Wonderful Rapport With Animals
A Wonderful Rapport
With Animals
To the Editor:
Speaking as a very concerned resident of Newtown, I am genuinely saddened and upset over the termination of Carolee Mason as animal control officer.
After my Shetland sheepdog Misty was crowned Queen of the 2004 Newtown Bee Dog Contest, I began to familiarize myself with what was being done in Newtown to help abandoned animals find new homes. I met then-poundkeeper Carolee Mason during the summer of 2005 when I substituted for a volunteer walker who was on vacation. I immediately found Carolee to be an individual who truly loved animals and had a wonderful rapport with them.
When Carolee later became the animal control officer, I was very pleased because I knew that the animal shelter would be in great hands. I strongly support the reinstatement of Carolee Mason to the position of animal control officer for the town of Newtown.
