Toddler Falls Into Water Well

Police, fire and ambulance personnel responded on the afternoon of July 31 to

the Ferris residence at 4 Robin Hill Road where a 3-year-old boy had

accidentally fallen into a water well.

Chad Ferris had been playing in the yard about 4:40 pm when he fell through a

covering which was atop the well, police said.

Chad was pulled out of the 10-foot-deep well by a relative who was nearby at

the time, according to police.

Police went to the scene to provide assistance on the medical call.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the child to Danbury

Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
