Camp Invention Goes Buggy

Children who attend Camp Invention in Newtown this summer will study bugs, design a movie set, and become detectives who investigate some of life’s biggest challenges. Camp will August 1–5, from 8:30 am to 3 pm, at Fraser-Woods School.

Camp Invention is a national summer day camp that encourages children to develop their innate creative abilities. It is for children entering grades 2-6.

Children participate in hands-on, interactive activities that encourage creativity and inventive solutions. Camp Invention is a joint project of the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the US Patent and Trademark Office. It was started in 1990 by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, a nationally recognized, nonprofit resource center for creativity in Akron, Ohio. It was introduced in Connecticut eight years ago.

Camp will be taught by local teachers, and features a low staff/camper ratio: one staff member for eight campers.

The $220 camp fee, on or before May 31, includes snacks and a T-shirt. A $20 discount is offered for siblings or friends who register together. After May 31 the cost is $209. Registration is limited to 110 children.

For more information or to register call 800-968-4332 or visit www.CampInvention.org.
