William Pendergast
William J. Pendergast, son of Fred and Nancy Pendergast, graduated from the Ancell School of Business at Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor of science degree in justice and law administration.
Robert Foege will begin medical school at the University of Washington this September. He is currently a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Seattle. Mr Foege is a 1992 graduate of Vassar College and a 1989 graduate of Newtown High School.
Adam Winner of Newtown received a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting from Syracuse University in May.
Elizabeth Glaser of Newtown graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelorâs degree in nursing.
Andrew M. Narcum, son of Donna L. and John A. Narcum of Newtown, recently participated in the US Naval Academy Summer Seminar in Annapolis, Maryland. While at the six-day seminar, Andrew attended eight academic workshops, participated in daily physical training, a marching drill competition, sports, seamanship and sailing programs, and learned about the academyâs character development program and values.
Bryan Raymond
Private Bryan Raymond graduated on August 1 after 15 weeks of rigorous basic training and advanced individual training at Ft Sill, Oklahoma, with Bravo Battery, 2nd Platoon, Cobras, of the US Army. He received medals for sharp shooter in basic rifle marksmanship and expert in hand grenades.
Pvt Raymond is currently involved in hometown recruiting in Danbury. He leaves August 24 for Colorado, where he will be stationed at Ft Carson for his job in field artillery. He is a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School and is the son of Judy and Dave Raymond of Newtown.
Erin Kostecki, a 2001 graduate of Newtown High School, was awarded The Raymond F. Gates, Jr Memorial Scholarship sponsored by The Connecticut Association of Realtors. She will be attending New York University in the fall to study marketing.
Beth H. Cohen, formerly of Newtown, has graduated with honors from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and a bachelor of arts in music. Miss Cohen joined Bose Corporation in Boston, Mass., in Research and Development as a design assurance engineer. She is the daughter of Steve and Bunny Cohen, formerly of Newtown.
Kimberly Carlson
Kimberly Carlson, granddaughter of George and Mabel Phillips of Newtown, was named a United States National Award Winner in Mathematics. She is a student at Danbury High School. Kimberly is the daughter of Diane Doling of Danbury and Bill Carlson of Torrington and the granddaughter of Martha Faust of Danbury and Richard Carlson of Bridgeport.
