Alliance Française NW Connecticut Upcoming Programs

The Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut (AFNWCT) has a few upcoming programs, all open to the public.

The first will be a Soirée Beaujolais wine tasting party on Friday, November 16, at 5:30 pm, at a private home in Southbury. Jim Frey of Walker Road Vineyards in Woodbury will give a presentation on wines; desserts and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Admission is $15. The public is invited, and fluency in French is not required.

On Saturday, December 1, AFNWCT will host a Fête de Noël Canadienne from 11:30 am to 3 pm at Woodbury Senior Community Center, 265 Main Street South in Woodbury.

A typical French Canadian Christmas meal will be served, followed by a Christmas concert by the popular French Canadian singer Josée Vachon.

Admission is $30 and again, fluency in French is not required.

Ongoing programs sponsored by AFNWCT include a Café et Conversation group that meets alternate Saturdays at The Barn Club, 558 Main Street South in Woodbury, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Readings and discussions on various topics are conducted in French. Upcoming meetings are November 17 and December 15. Admission is free and open to the public, light refreshments are served.

Another ongoing program of the AFNWCT is Soirées Littéraires Book Club, which meets the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm, at Bridgewater Library, 62 Main Street South in Bridgewater. Admission is free and open to the public.

Discussions and readings are in French.
