Blumenthal And Vietnam

To the Editor:

Vietnam War Veterans who would otherwise vote for Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for US Senate based on his apparent impeccable record in Connecticut are placed in a difficult position.

Mr Blumenthal claims he misspoke when he stated his Vietnam War service. However, as the wife of a Vietnam War Veteran, I now question my vote for him because I do not think you can misspeak that many times.

Many Vietnam War Vets may withhold their judgment on Mr Blumenthal. They all returned.

Mr Blumenthal should consider those who are not around to cast their votes because they lost their lives in the war or as a result of an illness they developed during the war, as did my husband.

Convince us you are contrite.
