Richard Dudley Jennings III, 73, devoted and beloved husband of Constance Louise (Howe) of Bethel, died February 7. Mr Jennings was born in Danbury, March 5, 1935, a son of Richard Dudley and Jane Higson Jennings.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and five daughters, including Douglas Stewart Jennings of Newtown; 11 grandchildren; and two brothers.
Mr Jennings served in the US Air Force. He worked for the family business, Tarrywile Farm, and after working at Barden Corporation and Hoffman Fuel Company, he co-founded the Star Oil Company. In 1971 Mr Jennings co-founded J & B Service Company, where he worked as a plumbing and heating contractor until his retirement in 2003.
Mr Jennings founded the Interfaith Youth Basketball League for the young men, and was an active volunteer through his church. He remained very active playing basketball, gardening, and traveling, and enjoyed time with his family.
Funeral services were held February 12. Burial followed in Wooster Cemetery
