Kristin Ryanâs voice settled across Sandy Hook Park at 5 Glen Road, as she offered guests an original song.
She was among featured performers taking the outdoor stage during âSounds For Strideâ on Saturday, October 9. The afternoon and early evening fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer Action Networkâs (PanCAN) PurpleStride Danbury, in collaboration with QPID Productions, brought a series of live performances by ZTrain, formerly known as VOG (Voice Of the Ghetto). Proceeds will benefit the Purple Strides Danbury 2010.
Collecting admission fees were event coordinator Kristin Angell and volunteer Liz Noyce. Relaxing on a blanket and enjoying the acoustic music were sisters Jaci and Amy Mastropietro with ZTrain singer Tania Couturier.
Happy with the sunny, cool day, Ms Angell said, âPeople are stopping in or walking over [from nearby restaurants]. The bands are great.â
Dustin Tilford and his son Braydon also relaxed in the lawn as performers juggled equipment onstage, and checked their sound. Waiting to play were members of After Three Seconds Jason Gordon and Julian Crocamo.
Opening for ZTrain were The Brian Harrington Quartet, QGM Crew, After Three Seconds, and The Screw Ups.
Chao Chi American Eatery & Bar provided food and drink.
