Edward F. Gonzales

Edward F. Gonzales, 82, of 15 Simeon Road, Bethel, died at the Glen Hill/Harborside Convalescent home in Danbury on May 27.

He was the brother of Caroline Gonzales of Newtown.

He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., August 15, 1917, son of the late Carl and Anna (Ward) Gonzales. His family moved to Bethel when he was a child, and he had been a Bethel resident most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and had served with the US Army in the South Pacific.

Mr Gonzales was a retired steamfitter/plumber and had been a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, the VFW, the American Legion, and the Bethel Senior Center.

He is also survived by another sister, Jeanette Sivo of Brookfield. He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Gonzales, in January.

Funeral services were held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on May 31. Burial with military honors followed in the Center section of Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
