*STEPHEN KELLOGG & THE SIXERS will play two shows at The Acoustic Café this weekend, both Saturday night. A 7 pm show is open to all ages and the second show, at 10, is for ages 21 and up.

Next weekend’s shows include NICK HARRISON, January 4; CHRIS SMITHER, January 5; and MERRIT JACOBS, Janucary 6.

*Café Nine in New Haven will be closed on New Year’s Eve, but will have plenty of good musical choices in the nights leading up to the big night.

Friday afternoon, Rafter Bats guitarist Dave Hogan will play during a 5-7:30 pm happy hour(s), with no cover charge. Then at 10 pm, New Haven’s own rhythm and blues legend George Baker will bring THE GEORGE BAKER EXPERIENCE to the stage. Admission for that show is just $5.

A pair of shows are also planned for Saturday. First at 4:30, George Baker will return to host an afternoon jazz jam starting at 4:30. Then at 10, BROKEN will headline Café Nine’s annual end-of-the-year punk rock blowout. The show that will also include opening sets by Hyman Holocaust and Shell Shock.

After its New Year’s Eve break, the café will reopen on January 1 with a show by BEATNIK 2000, and then will host AL HOWARD (and a second performer TBA) the following evening.

Later in the month, KING FOR A DAY will make its Café Nine debut. The Fairfield County supergroup will be playing on January 13; admission will be $5.

The café’s website is CafeNine.com. The café itself, located at 250 State Street in New Haven, can be reached for additional information by calling 203-789-8281.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
